MANUAL THERAPY - SPORTS MASSAGE - PAIN MANAGEMENT - DEEP TISSUE - PILATES

Welcome to Basic Vitality!

Our focus is to help you to reduce pain and build your strength, health and vitality  by combining manual therapy,  movement therapy, assisted stretching and appropriate exercises to promote the healthy functioning of your body. We do this by  creating and delivering individualized therapy and exercise plans for each of our clients.

Our aim is to increase your vitality so that you can enjoy a healthier and more active lifestyle.

For athletes, pre-event bodywork helps to prevent injuries and improve competitive outcomes. Post athletic event bodywork assists in recovery, rehabilitation and physical assessment to provide the basis for fine tuning therapy and setting new goals. We are very experienced working with individuals who place a high degree of aerobic demand on their body, such as runners and cyclists.

We’ve developed techniques to improve aerobic capacity by strengthening the primary and secondary muscles of breathing. This can increase oxygen intake and decrease muscle fatigue leading to improved athletic performance.

  • CLINICAL ORTHOPEDIC MANUAL THERAPY

Our knowledge and skills are based on extensive education, training and clinical practice. Experience allows us to accurately assess causes of pain, restriction and dysfunction. Using clinically proven orthopedic testing and therapy techniques, we help our clients to resolve their physical challenges. Comprehensive in scope, Clinical Orthopedic Manual Therapy (COMT) allows us to work effectively with our clients to address their challenges so they can resume their healthy, active lifestyles. As appropriate, we coordinate our services with your network of healthcare providers to ensure the best and most comprehensive level of care for you.

  • PAINFUL AREAS OF THE BODY

The neck, shoulders and low back can often be painful as the result of injury or overwork. Extended use of computers, smart phones and tablets can create postural habits that impact the neck and shoulders, creating tight, painful  muscles that restrict normal activities. Improper lifting of heavy objects can place excessive strain on the back, resulting in pain and stiffness. Runners may experience pain in the knee, ankle or Achilles’s tendon. Some sports, like golf and tennis can cause inflammation of the tendons of the hand, wrist and elbow. These are just some examples of injuries that we are very experienced in resolving through manual therapy.

Any condition that causes pain or limited function due to soft tissue injury can benefit from the skilled services of an orthopedic manual therapist. If you are experiencing discomfort, stiffness, pain, muscle weakness or limited range of movement, contact us for an initial consultation and assessment.
